Dr. Fariya Sharmeen, is a scholar of urban planning with specialisations in built environment, travel behaviour and social networks. She is an Assistant Professor of Sustainable Transportation at Radboud, Department of Geography, University Nijmegen. Her research interests consist social contexts of urban and transportation planning and urban regeneration. Her PhD research was focused on the relationship between social network dynamics and travel behaviour. She is the recipient of Royal Geographic Society Postgraduate award, 2013. Previously she worked as a Lecturer at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh and as researcher at Cities Institute, UK and Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
