Dr. Tomás Ruiz,is Civil Engineer and PhD in Transport Planning (Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, 2001). Associate Professor with 20 years of experience in urban mobility studies and travel behavior analysis. His research interests are related to study activity-travel scheduling processes; analysis of the factors that influence the use of non-motorized transport modes; design, implement and evaluate travel behavior change programs based on strategies of persuasion; and design innovative travel survey methods. He is currently starting a research project with the aim of exploring how traditional travel surveys can be improved using Big Data passively collected from smartphones.
